When the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA) announced their awards this morning FSU players were pretty much shut out. Aaron Thomas, who was 11th in the conference in scoring and arguably one of the two or three best defensive guards, was named to the honorable mention team, and that was it. No All-ACC performers. No All-Defense. No 6th-man. No most-improved.
But if you follow me on Twitter then you know I don't have much respect for the media awards. This year they put Tyler Ennis on the All-Defensive team despite the fact that I'm certain Virginia has walk-ons who are more capable defenders. The coaches awards (or more accurately, the coaches/SID awards) are a better indicator of who was deserving of awards, as the coaches understand the game a little bit better than the media.
So when the coaches awards were handed out later in the day, two Noles found themselves with hardware. Ian Miller was voted as the ACC's 6th Man of the Year, and Okaro White was named to the All-Defensive Team. Ian also was named as an All-ACC honorable mention.
Congrats to the seniors.
