Florida State football, recruiting news 08/29

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Spor

-We are one day away from Seminole football folks, one. Let that sink in for a minute. By the time you all read this I'll be on the road to Dallas. See you on the other side!

-The Noles picked up a huge commitment yesterday when DT Darvin Taylor (6'2, 305) chose FSU over NC State, VT, and Maryland. Taylor gives Florida State two commits at the tackle position.

-The Wall Street Journal writes about how FSU hasn't visited the White House yet as champions in various sports do. By the looks of it, it's not close to happening either.

-J.W. Walsh has "officially" been named the starting QB for Oklahoma State on Saturday night. Not that it was ever really in doubt, but OSU felt the need to announce it, so here it is.

-Here are David Hale's bowl predictions for this season. He has FSU in the first College Football Play-Off

-ESPN makes predictions for the ACC's week one match-ups. Other than FSU/OSU, which ACC game are you guys looking forward to most? Also, give me your prediction for Clemson at Georgia. I'll take Georgia in a close one, 27-24.

-State of the U ranks the college football teams in Florida. Do you guys agree with the rankings?

-Lastly, each Friday throughout football season I'll give my prediction for the FSU game that week. This week I'll take Florida State over Oklahoma State 41-17.
