Saturday Recruiting Roundup

New, 9 comments

A big week in recruiting for Florida State as it landed 4-star defensive tackle, Darvin Taylor. Taylor is a top 200 recruit that had been a strong FSU lean before his commitment. Check out his commitment story here.

There were several Florida State recruits and targets in action last night, we have the results below.

Derwin James and Haines City were in action against Winter Haven. James was a force on the field and did a little bit of everything. He was dominant in the first half with an interception (called back), a punt return TD(called back), a TD catch and a blocked PAT. Winter Haven used multiple defenders on him in the second half and pulled out a rain shortened win against Haines City.

De'Andre Johnson and First Coast crushed Ribault. Johnson threw for 230 yard with 4 TDs in the 41-6 victory.

Nyqwan Murray and Oak Ridge pulled out the upset of Apopka. Murray was dominant with TD catches of 73 yards, 80 yards and 16 yards. The last TD catch was the game winner with 5 seconds left on the clock. Murray ended up with 250 total yards.

Brian Bell and Lowndes played against Plant. Bell excelled on both sides of the ball in Lowndes 20-14 victory. Early in the game, he recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD and then took over on the last offensive drive to score the game winner. Lowndes gave Bell the ball 6 straight times and he capped it off with a 3 yard TD run.

DJ Jones and East Mississippi defeated Southwest Mississippi. Jones had a sack and 4 tackles in the 52-14 win.

Deondre Francois and IMG struggled against St Johns. Francois' first pass was one of his four interceptions on the night. He ended up 8/25 for 155 yards, no TDs, 4 INTs in the 35-2 blowout.

Darvin Taylor and Thomas Dale were sluggish against Cosby. Taylor played well though with a sack, a forced fumble and a recovered fumble in his team's loss.

Tyrek Cole and Miramar took down Heritage Delray. In the 14-7 victory, Cole was only thrown at twice all game.

Michael Barnett and Woodland fell to Ashley Ridge. Barnett left the game in the 1st quarter with an apparent hand/wrist injury.

Auden Tate and Wharton were blown out by Spoto. Wharton was held to only 147 total yards in the loss. No stats for Tate at this time.

Johnny Frasier and Princeton won over Midway. Fraiser had a 1 yard TD run in the game.

Jacques Patrick and Timber Creek lost to Dr Phillips. Patrick rushed for 28 times for 132 yards with a TD.

There were no specific stats for any of the other recruits. If you know of any or were at any of the games and want to give some input, we welcome the info in the comments.
