Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

-Derrick Mitchell's emergence at defensive tackle has been a shot in the arm for the Seminoles writes Tim Linafelt of the Miami Herald.

-Cam Erving is looking forward to his date with Vic Beasley on Saturday night writes Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel. Erving won the match-up between the two the last time these teams met, expect a fierce battle this time around.

-More from the Sentinel as Florida State is realizing that last year's team, is exactly that, last year's team.

-Clemson's OC Chad Morris wants to speed up the pace against Florida State Saturday night, faster than ever.

-Kevin Olsen is no longer enrolled at Miami after being suspended for the third time following an arrest on charges of driving under the influence and possessing a fake ID. Olsen did not play a snap in his career at UM.

-Meanwhile Ryan Williams is recovering nicely from an ACL tear during the off-season. Williams was Miami's projected starter at quarterback before the injury.
