After their sixth straight victory over the Miami Hurricanes, the 'Noles resumed the practice field Monday to begin preparation for their second straight ACC home date, this one coming in the form of a noon kickoff with the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday. FSU practiced in shells under sunny skies.

Running back Dalvin Cook sat this one out, as did frosh wideout Da'Vante Phillips, who was holding some ice to what appeared to be his right cheek or jaw. Linebacker Terrance Smith is out of the walking boot he'd worn on Saturday, and sporting a much smaller brace. We didn't see tight end Jeremy Kerr at practice, and Are was sidelined once again.

Chad Mavety, who played left guard against Miami after Kareem Are suffered a knee injury during practice last week, once again went with the ones, including (left to right) Rod Johnson, Ryan Hoefeld, Wilson Bell, and Derrick Kelly. Mario Pender continues to recover from lung surgery and was present.

Safety Nate Andrews, who playing primarily in dime situations after sustaining a bone bruise against Wake Forest, returned to the signature club, but still participated.

Special Teams

The field goal team worked on quickly getting onto the field and setting up for a kick, to simulate an end of half/game scenario in which FSU might find itself without timeouts.

Up Next

We'll be speaking with some FSU players after practice concludes, along with being granted access to the beginning of practice tomorrow afternoon, so be sure to check back for updates.
