Post-practice update: Jimbo Fisher revealed after practice that Tyler Hunter is missing time due to a concussion.
The 'Noles hit the practice field again this afternoon to prepare for Saturday night's showdown in Atlanta with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Scouts from the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings observed.
Injured/Absent
Running back Dalvin Cook rested his hamstring again today, as has been the tradition since injuring it against Wake Forest. Expect him to practice Wednesday and Thursday, though, and be ready for GT. Tight end Jeremy Kerr is still sitting after being concussed, although he did wear his jersey and stretch with the team, so he may be nearing a return. Terrance Smith also remains out with a high ankle sprain, as he sports a brace. And Tyler Hunter missed his second straight practice-- the two spent time on the stationary bikes.
Offense
Lineman Kareem Are practiced again after suffering a knee injury. The ones continue to consist of Rod Johnson, Chad Mavety, Ryan Hoefeld, Wilson Bell, and Derrick Kelly, left to right, while the twos include Keith Weeks, Are, Alec Aberle, Corey Martinez, and Brock Ruble, although it is worth noting that Eberle and Ruble worked with the first team as well. Huge freshman Cole Minshew snapped for the third string.
Unlike yesterday, when we didn't see him catching any balls, receiver Bobo Wilson was dressed out and playing catch today, though not participating in drills.
Defense
For the second straight day, defensive back Nate Andrews went without the club on his arm and hand. His wrist and hand are wrapped, however.
Special Teams
The starting deep men remain Jalen Ramsey and Kermit Whitfield, and Pigg Harrison worked with a rotation of Travis Rudolph and Tarvarus McFadden on the second team.
Up Next
Jimbo Fisher will address media members after practice, and tomorrow he'll appear on his weekly call-in show.
