Florida State's offense scored 5 times in a row against Louisville in the second half. That was after struggling to get things going for all of the first. Georgia Tech is not nearly as talented on defense as Louisville. It could be a decent matchup for the 'Noles' young offensive line to continue the success from last week. Florida State's run defense is only giving up 3.13 yards per rush against ACC teams. More impressive, it has yet to give up a rushing TD in conference play. That run defense will need to translate to defending Georgia Tech's triple option. Goals: Keep protecting the ball, dominate the line of scrimmage, play assignment football, run the ball - a lot.

If the favored teams do what they are supposed to, as in win, this is going to be a very ho-hum Saturday. Except for Utah, we'll get to that. But college football can be unpredictable. Vegas isn't always right. Unfortunately, the only ranked vs ranked team today is Texas A&M at Ole Miss. Ole Miss is still ranked after losing to Memphis last week. This is because of an obscure NCAA bylaw. The bylaw states "Team A is granted a minimum of 5 weeks of being over ranked, no matter the record, if team A has beaten Alabama." Look it up.

Perhaps the most interesting game in the ACC is Clemson at Miami. Clemson is around a TD favorite on the road. This is the last true conference test of the season for Clemson, outside of Florida State. We are taking Miami off of TANK WATCH for this game. Because playing the 6th ranked team in the country should be a loss for a 4-2 team. Of course, maybe getting stomped by Clemson by 21 plus will impact Golden's tenure at Miami. Compromise, we'll put Miami on GETTING STOMPED WATCH.

It would be great to say, hey Tennessee won an SEC game. That's the confidence builder they needed going into Tuscaloosa to pull the upset against Bama, or some other underdog football cliche. But, nah. Tennessee is probably going to get crushed. That's the only shred of optimism the Vols get, "probably going to get crushed."

During the Florida State game, might be worth checking in on Utah at USC. That's because 3-3 USC is favored by 3.5 points over Utah. Yep, the number 3 team in country is supposed to lose to the team that fired its head coach mid-season. For the rest of the games, you are on your own. Your job will be to flip around, find competitive games. And hope for upsets. Good luck.

Florida State is still officially in the hunt for the playoff, halfway through the regular season. That means FSU needs some teams in the top 10 to fail.
