The Seminoles have enjoyed recent success in the series over their archrival winning five straight.
A big part of the success has allowed Florida State to virtually walk into Miami’s backyard and handpick any top recruit they want. Some of the most talented Seminoles hail from south Florida including Dalvin Cook, Ermon Lane, Da’Vante Phillips, Tarvarus McFadden, Sh’Mar Kilby-Lane and Travis Rudolph.
To add insult to injury, Rudolph, Cook, Phillips and McFadden played their high school ball for former Hurricanes Steve Walsh, Roland Smith and Mike Rumph, respectively.
The cherry picking has continued with ease for Florida State this cycle taking two of the best from Smith’s Miami/Central powerhouse, Keir Thomas and Jamel Cook, securing a verbal commit from Emmett Rice, coached by known Miami fan Luther Campbell and even locking up four-star back Amir Rasul from Coral Gables High, a school a few blocks from Miami’s campus.

-Florida State will be welcoming more than 25 four- and five-star recruits for the game. Full list coming today.
