Florida State football, recruiting news: Hype surrounding FSU/UM game grows

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

- ESPN's Jared Shanker takes a look back at the recruitments of Dalvin Cook and Joseph Yearby, running backs for FSU and UM, respectively, who were high school teammates at Miami Central. Yearby, who was committed to FSU before Cook but decided to flip his commitment to the Hurricanes, is arguably a top 2 ACC running back along with Cook.

- Christy Cabrera Chirinos of the Sun-Sentinel addresses Miami's third down issues (UM has converted on 24.5% of third downs, second-worst in the FBS) and how there is no simple solution.

- As he does every year, noted Miami supporter Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell made a bold claim about this Saturday's FSU/UM game when he joined ESPN's Andrea Adelson and David Hale for a video chat.

- Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel poses the question of which Brad Kaaya will show up tomorrow against the Seminoles.

Kaaya is 12th nationally in passes of 20 yards or longer per game, with 3.25. He has completed 86 of 140 passes for 1,094 yards and five touchdowns to one interception. But the sophomore's numbers take a noticeable hit in difficult situations - he has a passer rating of 116.09 when trailing and has completed 37.1 of his passes on third down - something Kaaya and Golden know must be corrected.

Corey Clark, columnist for the Tallahassee Democrat, utilized Throwback Thursday to look at all that has changed since the last time Miami beat Florida State.

In case you missed it, here's a look at the massive recruit visitor list for the Miami game that was compiled by Bud Elliott.
