Florida State remains #15 in the coaches poll. You can view the new poll here.
Florida State stayed put at #17 in the AP Poll. You can view the new poll here.
Original:
Florida State rebounded nicely this weekend against their opponent, the Syracuse Orange, defeating them 45-21.
Florida State entered the AP Poll ranked #17. With all of the top teams on bye's and every other team in front of the Noles winning their games, it does not look like Florida State will be able to move up in the AP polls at all. There currently is a wide gap in points between #18 Houston (411), #17 Florida State (571), and #16 Memphis (660) that the teams are nowhere near passing each other.
In the coaches poll, the Noles entered the game against Syracuse at #15. Just as in the AP, no one in front of the Seminoles lost. However, the Noles hold a slim 17 point lead over #16 Memphis and a 36 point lead over #17 Michigan. With Memphis defeating Tulane and Michigan defeating Minnesota in Minneapolis, the Wolverines are more likley to jump the Noles than the Memphis Tigers due to strength of opponent, and don't be surprised if it happens.
This Tuesday will be the season reveal of the College Football Playoff committee rankings and Florida State is expected to be included on that list when it is revealed.
In the end, expect Florida State to stay put in both polls with the small chance of moving back a spot in the coaches poll.
