Florida State football, recruiting news: FSU players leaning towards Golson or Maguire?

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

- Andrea Adelson, an ACC writer for ESPN, seeks to provide some perspective on Florida State's season to this point.

Florida State is not going anywhere. This is a program poised to make another championship run next season, when the core of its team returns - including superstar back Dalvin Cook. Is it disappointing to lose? Absolutely. Especially when the Georgia Tech game ended on a fluke play, and the Clemson game with a poor fourth quarter performance. Some fans have hollered about Jimbo Fisher's second-half play-calling in both losses, and why he didn't feed Cook the ball more. Much of that has to do with the way the defenses played Florida State, knowing full well Cook is the biggest homerun option they have.

- Joe Giglio of the Charlotte Observer analyzes who could get carries for NC State going forward. Only four days from their game against Florida State, the Wolfpack are still dealing with a backfield whose first-string running back was kicked off the team and whose second-string is out for the remainder of the season.

- Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel reads between the lines, stating that despite Jimbo Fisher's silence on his quarterback going forward, the rest of the team knows who they want behind center.

- Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples highlighted the numerous assumptions about this season that were obliterated this past weekend.

Recruiting: Alabama offered FSU JUCO DT commit Walvenski Aime. FSU's sources still feel confident he'll stick with the Seminoles.
