Dalvin Cook took the handoff, ran wide right, and into the Florida State record books.
The carry gave Cook 1,243 yards on the season, eclipsing the previous record of 1,242 yards set by 'Nole great Warrick Dunn 20 years ago in 1995. Cook would finish the contest with 1,369 rushing yards on the season. The other most notable single-season rushing campaigns posted by Seminole RBs left in Cook's wake include that of Sammie Smith in 1987 (1,230 yards) and Dunn's 1996 mark of 1,180 yards.
With two-plus regular-season games and a bowl matchup remaining on the schedule, one thing is certain: although nobody knows just what the new single-season record will ultimately wind up being, every Cook carry from here on out this season will be a historic one.
