For the second time this postseason, the 'Noles practiced in rainy conditions in preparation for their Peach Bowl showdown with the Houston Cougars. And the health of several players continues to vary.

Injured/Absent

Wide receiver Ermon Lane (pictured) is wearing a boot on his left foot and walking slowly with the assistance of crutches. Offensive linemen Cole Minshew and David Robbins rode the stationary bikes, and Chad Mavety was present but did not participate-- Jimbo Fisher stated on Monday that Mavety had the flu. Ryan Izzo remains absent (family emergency), as does Mario Pender.

Reggie Northrup was not at practice, and Keith Bryant was on the bike, as was Keelin Smith. Trey Marshall attended practice but did not participate.

Offense

Quarterback Sean Maguire still seems bothered by his back, repeatedly bending forward after throws. Mavin Saunders and Johnathan Vickers once again donned non-contact jerseys for practice. Dalvin Cook continues to display increased leadership, sprinting over from working with the QBs to lead the running backs through the blaster, and doing so quite vocally.

The first-team OL was, left to right, Rod Johnson, Kareem Are, Alec Eberle, Wilson Bell, and Brock Ruble. The twos: Ethan Frith, Joshua Peters, Corey Martinez, Willie Smith, and Keith Weeks.

Defense

Lamarcus Brutus continues to practice in a non-contact jersey and with a cast after having surgery on his broken left hand (fourth metacarpal).

Up Next

We'll chat with Fisher after practice, and Friday's practice will be open to the media as well.
