Florida State sent out two new recruiting offers Wednesday to talented players.
First, Florida State offered Chase Allen, a 6'6, 220-pound tight end out of Missouri. He is teammates with FSU kicker/punter commitment Logan Tyler at Nixa High School. I spoke with Tyler about his teammate, who he called one of his best friends. He said that Allen had a breakout senior season, catching a ton of big passes for his team. He also plays basketball with MoKan Elite, a travel team with multiple elite prospects, and seems to be just now growing into his body. This could explain the late offer from Michigan, as well, as his senior film makes the rounds. It is indeed much better than his junior film. Allen is a 4.0 student with a 33 ACT.
Florida State already has one tight end commitment in Naseir Upshur but would take a second.
Second, FSU offered Jonathan Kongbo, the No. 1 JUCO prospect in the country. He's a 6'5, 255-pound defensive end from Arizona Western. Kongbo is committed to Tennessee, but is also being pursued by Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn, Washington and others. Kongbo's film is really good. He is originally from British Columbia (Canada) and has obviously come a long way in two years.
Florida State looks likely to take 23-24 commitments and could finish in the top five.
