The Florida State Seminoles look to have the same success on this road trip as they did last weekend in Raleigh. A series win would be excellent and should be expected against a team like Notre Dame who is a bottom half conference team. The Irish have only one win over a top 50 RPI team, half of their conference wins have came against Pitt last week and if you didn't know Pitt is terrible.

The Notre Dame offense is pretty poor, they don't get on base particularly well, don't hit for power and subsequently don't score a lot of runs. They have one player on the entire team, Cavin Biggio, who has an on-base percentage greater than .400, the Noles have eight that can make that claim. The Irish are even worse in conference play scoring just 4.1 runs per game while the Noles are still scoring more than seven runs per game against ACC teams.

The pitching staff for Notre Dame was phenomenal last week as they allowed only 5 runs in a 3 games against Pitt, but unfortuantely they have to face an offense a bit more formidable that then that of the Panthers. Looking at their numbers the Irish pitching staff does not rely on the strikeout to be successful, which might be good for the Noles. They don't walk a lot of batters and rely on their solid defense to make plays, that could be problematic for a team that hits the ball as well as Florida State does.
There hasn't been whole lot of consistency with the rotation this season for Florida State and the bullpen has been an absolute nightmare. What is so promising is the extremely high strikeouts per nine the pitching staff has. Walks and hits are high, coupled with an atrocious defense the pitching staff really struggles at times.
Florida State is finally a top 10 team in every poll and series sweep would be wonderful but a series win is what should be expected when playing on the road. All three games can be viewied via ESPN3 and follow along here for your play by play.
Go Noles!
