To say the Seminoles offense was putrid last weekend against Notre Dame would be phrasing it nicely. FSU hit just .158 as a team, 15 hits in all with only 3 that went for extra bases, an uncharacteristic 5 walks and 23 strikeouts. As a team the Noles walked 5 or more times in a game in 25 of the first 30 games, they have not walked 5 times in their last 8 games. Florida State was scoring more than 7 runs per game on the season and managed to score just 4 in the three game series as they were swept dropping them 5 games behind division leading Louisville.
No other offense in the country is swinging the bat better than the Florida Gators as they scored 60 runs in their four games last week against Stetson and South Carolina. Florida hit .400 as a team with 15 extra base hits including 7 homeruns in their series with the Gamecocks. No other player in the country is hotter than catcher JJ Schwarz, the freshman hit .529 with 15 RBI, 12 runs and seven homers in the Gators four victories.
Game 39 - Florida April 14

UF Starter: TBA

The Florida State pitching staff threw well this past weekend, it was a shame that it went to waste as they allowed only 11 runs in the three games. A repeat performance from the last time Bryant Holtmann pitched would give the Seminoles an excellent shot at taking the series. Two weeks ago the senior threw 5 innings allowing only one run leaving the game with a five run lead that would hold up and turn into a 8-3 victory.
