Florida State basketball has one committed prospect for the class of 2016, and he's been steadily rising in the rankings. Trent Forrest, a combo guard from Chipley, FL, was bumped to No. 42 by 247 Sports when they updated their rankings. Today, ESPN did them one better by moving him from 44 to 38. It's highly likely he'll end up as a consensus top 50 recruit along the lines of Xavier Rathan Mayes (46) and Malik Beasley (39).
Another FSU target - SF Jon Isaac - made a much bigger jump. He had been rated 50th by ESPN in their ESPN60, and now that they've expanded to the ESPN100 he was bumped all the way to No. 12. Six months ago he was an intriguing prospect, but now that his game is coming together fast he is emerging as one of the elite small forwards in the nation.
Two other FSU targets came in as 5*s. PF Dewan Huell was No. 18, while C Udoka Azubuike dropped from 10 to 19.
Other top targets in the expanded ranking include wing Brandon Robinson (76), and point guards CJ Walker (82) and Bryce Aiken (88). Walker will be visiting FSU the weekend of the 19th.
Florida State has four scholarships available (3 + Forrest), plus more spots for any attrition.
