Florida State begins the 2015 season ranked 8th in the USA Today Coaches Poll, behind (1-7) Ohio State, TCU, Alabama, Baylor, Oregon, Michigan State and Auburn. Four games are to be played involving the seven teams ranked ahead of Florida State.
The Seminoles have not under- or overachieved relative to the USA Today poll under Jimbo Fisher, and are predicted to win nine or ten regular-season games by the various Las Vegas casinos.
Georgia Tech, which hosts Florida State on October 24, is ranked 17th. Georgia Tech was picked to win the Coastal Division at ACC Media Days.
Clemson, which hosts Florida State on November 7, is ranked 12th. Clemson was picked to win the ACC at ACC media Days.
Rivals Florida and Miami begin the season unranked.
