The 'Noles headed down their yellow brick road again today, taking to the practice field for their final Friday session of fall camp. Athletic Director Stan Wilcox and a New York Jets scout -- who was keeping an eye on the quarterbacks -- were in attendance, watching the Seminoles practice in helmets, shoulder pads, and shorts.

Offense

As he has all fall, Sean Maguire is still taking all the first QB reps-- at least the ones we're allowed to see. After missing some time with a quad injury, Mario Pender was active again today. Freshman lineman Cole Minshew was back in a boot, and Alec Eberle, like Wednesday, played center with the ones (Rod Johnson, Kareem Are, Wilson Bell, and Derrick Kelly). Chad Mavety is getting second-team RG reps.

WR George Campbell continues to participate in a non-contact jersey coming off a head injury. Jeremy Kerr is out of his non-contact jersey, and OL Ryan Hoefeld is now participating in team drills.

Defense

A couple of starters returned to the field today for FSU. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey got back into the action after missing the last practice we saw with an ankle tweak. Linebacker Reggie Northrup also participated, and fellow 'backer Sh'Mar Kilby-Lane is still in a non-contact jersey. Calvin Brewton practiced again after missing some time with a hamstring issue.

After practice, Jimbo Fisher started talking to the media in attendance by mentioning that the defense had a great day today and whipped the offense's tails throughout practice. Fisher also reiterated that Josh Sweat is healthy and progressing at a good rate.

Special Teams

Think Roberto Aguayo takes his preparation seriously? He was practicing kickoffs before things got going, replicating his ritual to a tee. He even looks to each side and points, as if to make sure his team is ready-- even though there's nobody there.

We got a glimpse of the kickoff coverage unit, too. It features, in addition to Aguayo, Ramsey, Tyrell Lyons, Trey Marshall, Derwin James, Johnathan Vickers, Jacob Pugh, Terrance Smith, Tyler Hunter, Marquez White, and Nate Andrews.

Injured/Absent

Freshman offensive lineman Abdul Bello missed another practice and looks to be favoring his right leg. Rookie wide receivers Auden Tate (staph infection) missed practice, and Nyqwan Murray (broken knuckle) remains out with his hand in a cast. Defensive ends Lorenzo Featherston and Chris Casher (knee scopes) remain out. Featherston is putting weight on it while getting around on crutches. Frosh DB Marcus Lewis did not practice, and was seen on crutches at the Kickoff Luncheon earlier today. Freshman defensive back Tarvarus McFadden did not practice, nor did wideout Ja'Vonn Harrison.

Next Practice

Next up for the 'Noles will be the second scrimmage of the fall tomorrow. Practice opens at 11:30 am and should be in Doak Campbell Stadium, weather permitting.
