Update: Jimbo Fisher delivered this week's injury report, and it looks remarkably similar to last week's. Chad Mavety will again miss the game after suffering a concussion, Cole Minshew and Abdul Bello are out with ankle and knee injuries (respectively), and Lorenzo Featherston (knee scope) and Marcus Lewis (bone bruise) will obviously miss once more. Chris Casher is out for about a week with an MCL injury, and Nyqwan Murray, although he's out another game, will be back "pretty soon," per Fisher, confirming our suspicions about him getting healthier.
The 'Noles hit the practice field in shells again today in preparation for their early game with the South Florida Bulls on Saturday. A brief sun shower and some heavy thunder saw FSU practice inside during the portion available to media.
Offense
After Ryan Hoefeld took first-team reps at the center spot in the last practice open to media, he did not participate today. Corey Martinez was back with the ones at center. It looks like FSU's offensive starters up front will be the same as they were in the season opener. Frosh WR Nyqwan Murray has become quite adept at one-handed grabs after breaking a knuckle, but padding on his left hand appears to be less cumbersome now, and he's using both hands to make more catches, so he may be getting healthier.
Defense
Defensive lineman Nile Lawrence-Stample is still wearing a left knee brace, which may be here to stay. Safety Nate Andrews continues to sport a "club" on his right arm.
Special Teams
The kickoff team got some run early on-- Roberto Aguayo repeatedly drilled balls into the rafters of the IPF.
Injured/Absent
First-year offensive linemen Cole Minshew (ankle) and Abdul Bello (knee) remain sidelined, as does freshman defensive back Marcus Lewis, who's working his way back after suffering a deep bone bruise. Sophomore defensive end Lorenzo Featherston, rehabbing from a knee scope, sat again, and defensive tackle Keith Bryant was once again on the stationary bike after sustaining a knee injury against Texas State. O-lineman Chad Mavety remains out with a concussion. Keelin Smith, who'd been in a non-contact jersey, did not participate, nor did Chris Casher, who wore a left knee brace and had a slight limp.
