Gameday Central

South Florida (1-0) at Florida State (1-0)

Watch: ESPN, 11:30 AM

Listen: 'Nole Radio Network, Bulls Radio Network

Weather: Bring your rain gear again this week. We'll have about a 40% chance of rain at kickoff increasing to 85% by the end of the game. UPDATE 100% chance of rain. Temperatures will be kept low, 79 degrees at kickoff, cooling off to about 75.

The Spread: FSU opened as a 29 point favorite. The line hasn't changed much, as the 'Noles remain a 28.5 - 29 point favorite.

Game CoverageGame Preview and PodcastOpponent Q&ACraft Beer Preview: USF

Florida State goes from a weather delayed 9:15 kickoff last week to an unusual 11:30 AM kick. It could be a sluggish start for the 'Noles, going from one extreme to another. Add to that, there could be weather delays and a soggy field to complicate things. However, FSU is a 28.5 point favorite, close to the line last week. USF should offer a better defensive test for the 'Noles in week 2. But, USF's offense could struggle against FSU's athletic front and corners. Field position should prove problematic for the Bulls. Goals: Improve on special teams, stay healthy, get the backups in by the 4th quarter.

Other Games

One good thing about an 11:30 kick? You got plenty of time to get back to the house/apartment/tailgate/bar and watch some more football. As far as week 2's go, this one isn't too shabby. After the USF/FSU game, feel free to use this thread to talk ball the rest of the day.

Afternoon games: In ACC scouting, Virginia goes from a loss to UCLA to take on Notre Dame. No, that's not great scheduling. However, Notre Dame is only a 12 point favorite. Maybe the Hoos can keep it close until the 4th. Georgia Tech continues their preseason against Tulane. This won't be a game.

Evening Games: Finally, the good stuff. At 6PM, 19th ranked Oklahoma plays the 24th ranked Tennessee Vols. Tennessee is ranked because they have a combined 17W-20L record the last 3 years. Wait...moving on. The big showdown of the day sees Oregon on the road to Michigan State. Both teams are in the top ten, neither of them overly impressed in the first week. The Ducks gave up 42 points to E. Washington. We'll see if the Ducks are deserving of that top 10 ranking in the post-Mariota era.

Florida State is still in it to win it. Check out which teams need to face plant to help out FSU's chances of making the playoff. Also, check out this week's Best Bets.
