Florida State football, recruiting news: Opponent recap

-Texas State rebounded nicely and beat up on Prairie View A&M 63-24

- Boston College (Week 3, 9/18) obliterated their second FCS opponent of the year. BC led Howard 62-0 at the half with both coaches agreeing on cutting each quarter down by 5 minutes each. BC ended the contest(?) as 76-0 winners. Hard to take much from this.

- Wake Forest (Week 5, 10/3) lost the ACC Basement Bowl to Syracuse (Week 9, 10/31) 30-17. Wake Forest was shut out in the second half while new Syracuse Eric Dungey picked it up in the second half ending the game by going 4-5 for 221 yards. You can argue that Wake Forest outplayed Syracuse, but it had some very costly mistakes.

- Miami (Week 6, 10/10) started slow at FAU on Friday night but pulled away in the second half downing the Owls 44-20. The Owls lost their starting QB just before kick off but were able to hang around due to the play of Jason Driskell and Miami's offensive line struggles. The Hurricanes lost starting SAM LB Owens to an injury.

- Louisville (Week 7, 10/17) lost to Houston 34-31 due to multiple turnovers and a 100 yard kick return by Houston. Freshmen QB Lamar Jackson struggled and was replaced late by sophomore Kyle Bolin who was able to get the Cards the lead. However Louisville could not hold onto the lead and missed a 53-yard FG that would have tied the game. Things only get harder for Louisville as they face up against Clemson Thursday. Video recap here.

- Georgia Tech (Week 8, 10/24) beat up on Tulane 65-10 as it prepares for next week's marquee match up with Notre Dame.

- Clemson (Week 10, 11/7) beat Appalachian State 41-10 but struggled to run the ball at times due to an inexperienced offensive line.

- The Wolfpack (Week 11, 11/14) shut out Eastern Kentucky 35-0.

- Chattanooga (Week 12, 11/21) beat Mars Hill 44-34.

- Florida (Week 13, 11/28) tackled itself to seal a win over Eastern Carolina 31-24. Jim McElwain was not impressed.

Opponent W/L record: 18-6
