Jimbo FIsher had his weekly call-in show at the Four Points by Sheraton on Wednesday night. For a full recap of the show, check my updates in the comments section at the bottom of the page. Here are my takeaways from the show:

Derwin James' versatility

At one point of the show, a caller asked about how the freshmen in the secondary are developing through the beginning of the season. Fisher complimented Derwin James, Tarvarus McFadden, A.J. Westbrook, and Calvin Brewton, all of the first-year secondary members. Fisher further said that James played both as a quarterback spy and an edge rusher in Florida State's win over Boston College, showing just how many different things James can do.

Black Jerseys?

For the first time this season, a caller asked Fisher if they would be wearing the alternate black jerseys any time soon. Fisher admitted that the players on the team and the marketing department have been pressuring him to go with the black tops for an upcoming game. Fisher gave a non-committal answer in the end, saying "You never know when I will sneak those out."

How much will Patrick play this year?

The final question of the night came from host Gene Deckerhoff, who asked if freshman running back Jacques Patrick will see more carries as the season goes on. Fisher was quick to reply yes before following up by saying that as the season progresses and running backs get worn down, the backs who are lower on the depth chart will see more carries to relieve the starter's load. Fisher ended by making an interesting comparison, saying that few had seen much from Dalvin Cook through 3 games last season.
