Florida State football, recruiting news: Chaos in the ACC Coastal

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

- Jared Shanker of ESPN highlights the chaos that is occurring on the other side of the ACC. Supposing Florida State advances to its fourth straight ACC Championship appearance, it's anyone's guess as to who the Seminoles would be facing.

Instead, the Coastal was 3-7 in the nonconference season against Power 5 teams, with two additional losses to Group of 5 schools. Three teams already have multiple losses. The Pac-12 North is the only other division without at least two undefeated teams, but out west they are already ankle deep in conference play; three of the six Pac-12 North schools have a league loss. Georgia Tech and Duke are the only Coastal teams to have played an ACC game already.

- Tom D'Angelo, FSU beat writer for the Palm Beach Post, writes on how Florida State has improved on offense in one major way from last year.

- Robert Reinhold, writer for Wake Forest SB Nation site Blogger So Dear, gives his first impression of this Saturday's game between the Seminoles and the Demon Deacons.

- Nole Digest's Wayne McGahee highlights one of Jimbo Fisher's main points from Monday's press conference. With such a talented, deep receiving corps, physical talent alone is not enough to earn playing time.

Recruiting: FSU commit Janarius Robinson, a 2016 4* DE who many believed was solidly committed to FSU, has recently taken visits to UF and Alabama, with another planned this weekend to the UGA/Bama game this weekend. Florida State will likely have to fight to keep his commitment and that can be done when he visits Tallahassee for the FSU/UM game in 2 weeks.
