2016 SF visiting FSU basketball this weekend

Phil Sears-USA TODAY Sports

Tomahawk Nation has confirmed that 2016 Small Forward prospect Mfiondu Kabengele will officially visit Florida State this weekend.

Kabengele is originally from Burlington, Ontario (that's in Canada, kids), but is utilizing a post-grad year at Don Bosco Prep (IN). He has an interesting skill set. At 6-8, with 7-1 wingspan he obviously has the length that Coach Hamilton is looking for, and he seemingly has a good frame. He also has a good handle, and is an excellent passer. And he has range to the 3-pt line, even if it isn't yet consistent.

From what I've heard his primary weakness is that he's not really a face-up perimeter player, nor is he a back to the basket forward. He can drift at times, unsure of how best to use his skills. Coaches also need to figure out which positions he can defend.

But that is why we have college coaching.

Florida State was the first high major school to offer. Since then, Boston College and Georgia have both extended scholarship offers. Prior to FSU, the interest was from St. Bonaventure, Grand Canyon, and Binghampton.

Florida State currently has three signees and the No. 10 overall class at 247Sports.
