Noles News 1/25: Florida State football receives another commitment

FSU continues to recruit as they have less than two weeks until national signing day.

Recruiting:

-Florida State picked up a commitment from three-star athlete Clifford Chattman. The athlete has the potential to play many positions with his 6'4 frame, and could wind up playing defensive back in the future.

-The 'Noles hosted six targets and three committed players this weekend, including four-star WR Keith Gavin, four-star Juco prospect Jonathan Kongbo (Kongbo ended up on USC's campus), four-star defensive tackles Raekwon Davis (Davis visited Alabama), Stephon Taylor and current four-star cornerback commit Kyle Meyers.

-Bud Elliot explains why LSU beating out Ohio State for a five-star defensive tackle is beneficial for FSU.

-Four-star defensive tackle Stephon Taylor moved Florida State up on his rankings following his official visit this weekend. Currently the 'Noles have four-star Cedric Wood and three-star Walvenski Aime as the other defensive tackles from this class, both who enrolled early.

-Four-star linebacker Dontavious Jackson will make an unofficial visit to the University of Texas instead of Florida State, reportedly the final two schools in his decision.

Alumni:

-Former Florida State Seminole kicker Graham Gano will participate in Super Bowl 50, continuing the trend of 'Noles playing for the Lombardi Trophy.

- LB Terrance Smith and DT Nile Lawrence-Stample both started in this weekend's East vs. West shrine game. Former QB Jameis Winston was there to cheer the pair on. Unfortunately, Smith's day ended early due to an injury. CBS Sports has Smith projected as a seventh round pick with NLS going between rounds 4-5.

- Jameis Winston was named as a finalist for the NFL Rookie of the Year award.

- Former WR Anquan Boldin was named a finalist for the Walter Peyton Man of the Year award.

-Dan Kadar of SB Nation has DB Jalen Ramsey at #2 on his 2016 NFL Draft big board with kicker Roberto Aguayo rounding out the top 100 list at #100.

-It actually snowed in Tallahassee this weekend!!
