Last Saturday, Florida State football had a different intensity in its victory over Miami than seen in the prior weeks.
That intensity on defense carried over to Saturday’s victory against Wake Forest, which defensive end DeMarcus Walker was glad to see.
“It was very nice. I asked the team one thing during the pregame speech, and that was to go higher. Just build off what we did last week, and I believe we did that.”
The defense limited Wake to 252 total yards and 3.8 yards per play.
On the season, Walker now has 8.5 sacks in just six games after recording two more against Wake Forest. When asked if he had a goal, Walker said he does, but keeps it to himself.
“Sacks really don’t mean anything to me. If I had zero sacks and we came out with a (victory), I’d still be happy.”
