To say that Phil Cofer is relieved to be back and healthy for Florida State’s basketball team may be an understatement.
The junior forward out of Atlanta, Georgia was able to play in only 11 games last season before suffering an ankle injury which ended his season before conference play even got underway.
“It’s pretty good,” Cofer replied when asked about how it felt to be back. “Just getting my foot right so everything has been going pretty good. I’m back to 100%.”
When prompted on the freshman class which is entering its first season at Florida State, Cofer had a promising observation to share, saying, “Usually when [a new class] comes in, they’re not as vocal but this freshman group is very vocal and they are acting like veterans.”
Cofer’s return for the 2016-2017 season could not be more well timed as he will line up alongside center Michael Ojo, who missed last season with a torn meniscus, in a formidable frontcourt duo which the Seminoles did not have access to a year ago.
