Football:
Florida State moved up one spot each in both the Coaches & the AP Poll; following its contest with Brigham Young Episcopal.
Bold letters followed by a very bold prediction.
Florida State has plenty to improve upon before Clemson. Coach Fisher thought the Bye week was well-needed:
“All of them. [All of the players] need time off,” head coach Jimbo Fisher said. “We had camp, had three games in 12 days right off the bat, then you got seven weeks in a row. It’s been a long time.”
While Center Alec Eberle used the bye for a ‘Come to Jesus Moment’
“This is a good time for one of those, I like to call, 'Jesus moments,'” Florida State center Alec Eberle said. “It's one of those times to look at it, look at what’s not going right, what we’ve got do to fix it, and turn around and fix it and get ready for the next game. I think that’s what we are going to do this week and next week.” “We are letting our quarterback get hit too much. We are leading the ACC in sacks, which is unacceptable,” Eberle said. “So we know that we need to get better, we need to protect our quarterback.”
Senior Defensive End Demarcus Walker spent his bye week in Jacksonville helping with Hurricane Matthew cleanup; for Walker it’s all about finishing this season in a strong fashion.

Florida State continues to see the Taxslayer Bowl as its likely destination in the Bowl projections; a victory over Clemson would change that.
Bryan LaCivita, the walk-on that’s been blowing everyone up on Kickoff coverage, his hard work has paid off.
Clemson opened as a 3 point favorite in this week’s match-up; a line that many expected to be higher.
Florida State checks in at fourth in this week’s ESPN ACC Power Rankings.
Recruiting:
ESPN updated its 300 rankings; which now features seven Seminole commitments. Stanford Samuels is the highest at 31st overall.
The Tallahassee democrat took an in-depth look at the recruiting of both teams current players before the matchup this Saturday.
Other Sports:
Florida State Basketball is right around the corner; a few Seminole gave their thoughts on getting back on the court & some of their new talented teammates.
Many are saying that it’s NCAA tournament or bust for this year’s basketball squad.
That’s 32 straight home matches for Women’s soccer without a loss; impressive.
Alumni:
Jameis Winston put forth his 3rd best completion performance of his young career at 70% & currently leads the NFL in this statistic:
