On Monday following practice, Florida State defensive back Derwin James talked about his progress while recovering from a torn meniscus suffered in a win over Charleston Southern. It was the first time the Haines City native spoke since suffering the injury.
To begin with, James says he still does not have a specific date that is circled for his return. While on the sidelines, the sophomore has said he contributes by being a “vocal leader.” Teammate Dalvin Cook also said James, “Tries to be out there as much as possible.”
“I feel great, I’m taking it day by day, Just doing what the doctors and coach been telling me, it’s going well.” James said he wishes he could be on the field this weekend for a big rivalry game against Miami, saying it’s one of the reasons you come to FSU, to play Florida and Miami.
