On Friday night starting at 6 PM, Florida State Men’s Basketball will hold its annual preseason event, Jam with Coach Ham. On the agenda is a three-point shooting contest, slam dunk contest, and a split squad scrimmage.
The ‘Noles have some promising new additions to the 2016-2017 team, highlighted by 247 composite’s No. 8 overall player from the 2017 class Jonathan Isaac. Also in that signing class, and now at FSU is four-star shooting guard Trent Forrest as well as three-stars PG C.J. Walker and SF Mfiondu Kabengele. Florida State also added two JUCO players in All American Braian Angola-Rodas, and sharpshooter PJ Savoy.
Some notable players returning from last year’s team are guards Dwayne Bacon (So.), Terance Mann (So.) Xavier Rathan-Mayes (Jr.), and Forward Phil Cofer (Jr.) After suffering a season ending injury in 2015, Michael Ojo received a medical red shirt, and returns to FSU at center for a fifth season.
Last season, Florida State ended disappointing season by falling int he second round of the NIT tournament, finishing with a final 20-14 record, going 8-10 inside ACC play.
