On the very last play of the first quarter against Miami, Florida State QB Deondre Francois was driven to the ground, and appeared to injure his right, throwing shoulder. Before the injury, Francois had completed four of seven passes for 24 yards and rushed for another 19 yards.

Replacing the redshirt freshman was Sean Maguire, who had been questionable on the injury report coming into every game this season. The senior from New Jersey underwent off-season ankle injury. It was Maguire’s first time playing in a game this season, as in earlier games, Fisher had opted to go with J.J. Cosentino.

Behind the trio, Florida State has Jake Rizzo, a freshman walk-on quarterback. Freshman Malik Henry was not spotted in warm up drills and is not believed to be with the team in Miami.

In his first five games of the season, Francois had thrown for 1,323 yards and seven touchdowns on a 62.7% completion percentage.
