Jimbo Fisher has yet to lose to Miami during his tenure as Florida State football head coach, and that didn’t change on Saturday when the ‘Noles won in another classic, 20-19.
“Florida State vs. Miami, it always is, it doesn’t matter what the records are, what goes on. Somehow, someway that thing comes down to the end to one play.”
When asked about tight end Mavin Saunders, Fisher gleaned with excitement, praising the young player, saying, "Oh my lord, I'm gonna tell you what. That guy is getting better and better."
Before the blocked extra point that preserved the Florida State lead, Fisher was already preparing for a two minute drill down the field, evaluating how many time outs and what plays to call. When he saw the miss, coach said his though process was, “Now we gotta get two first downs.”
