A crazy weekend of college football, full up upsets have put the bowl projections into a frenzy. With a win, the Florida State Seminoles helped itself out with a New Years Six Bowl a new possibility.
Russell Athletic Bowl: ACC vs. Big 12
Orlando, Florida
December 29, 2016
The Russell Athletic Bowl is positioned as the No. 2 ACC team, not in the College Football Playoff, making the bowl. If one of Clemson or Louisville makes the college football playoff with the other missing, Florida State will more than likely end up in Orlando.
Hyundai Sun Bowl: ACC vs. Pac-12
El Paso, Texas
December 30, 2016
College Football News has FSU projected out west to Texas, and face off against Stanford. It would put the ‘Noles in a situation to play a conference it normally doesn’t. Miami, the 2015 ACC representative, had a final record of 8-4, meaning this could be worst case scenario. This is probably the most unlikely scenario to happen.
Capital One Orange Bowl: ACC vs. Big Ten/SEC/IND
Miami, Florida
December 30, 2016
SB Nation, in its latest bowl projections, has both Clemson and Louisville making the College Football Playoff, leaving the ACC’s representative open in the Orange Bowl for FSU. The ‘Noles heading to Miami is only possible if both Clemson and Louisville make that four team cut.
Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl: ACC/Big Ten vs. SEC
Orlando, Florida
December 31, 2016
If the team representing the ACC in the Capital One Orange Bowl is facing a team from the Big Ten conference, the ACC will get a team, more than likely Florida State, in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. If the opponent in the Orange Bowl is not from the Big Ten, the ACC will not have a represented team in this bowl. It has the same ramifications as the Russell Athletic Bowl. CBS Sports has FSU projected here.
