Florida State survived a chaotic week of college football with a 45-7 victory over Boston College. Many teams ahead of the ‘Noles lost in their games, sending the rankings into a frenzy, and giving FSU the opportunity to rise.

In front of the ‘Noles who entered this week at No. 18, No. 2 Clemson, No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 Washington, No. 8 TAMU, No. 9 Auburn No. 14 VT, and No. 17 UNC all lost its games. Of those teams, Florida State should be able to jump UNC, VT and Auburn with Texas A&M being a possibility.

Once the latest polls are released around 9 PM EST on ESPN, between the Champions Classic basketball doubleheader airing on the network, FSU should see itself rise a few spots to around No. 15.

The newest rankings will also have an effect on where Florida State plays its bowl, as if Louisville and Clemson are able to both make the CFP, the ‘Noles could end up playing in the Orange Bow.
