FSU goes all out to promote Dalvin Cook for awards

FSU is doing all it can to get Dalvin Cook what he deserves.

Florida State has really stepped up its graphics and information game of late. And it is making a push to promote Dalvin Cook, the best running back in school history, for many awards.

Today, media received this email from the school.

Please consider Florida State junior running back Dalvin Cook when you are filling out your All-America and National Award ballots, and take a moment to visit our web site detailing all of Cook’s achievements and statistics during the 2016 season and his career: noles.co/DalvinCook4

Dalvin Cook is college football’s top running back and a semifinalist for the Doak Walker and Lombardi awards as well as a candidate for the Heisman Trophy, All-America honors and National Player of the Year awards. Cook ranks second among Power 5 running backs in rushing yards (1,242) and yards from scrimmage (1,642) and leads all running backs in yards per catch (14.8) while scoring 14 touchdowns. Cook has done all of this while facing the nation’s toughest schedule. Cook enters Saturday’s game at Syracuse just 19 yards away from breaking Warrick Dunn’s 20-year old school record for career rushing yards and just 59 yards away from becoming the first ACC running back to rush for 4,000 yards in three seasons.

The website is very well done, and mobile friendly (we tried it out on a phone and a tablet).

FSU also passed along with this graphic. Yes, it is a bit busy, but the use of different fonts helps to differentiate points a bit.

While Cook has zero shot to win the Heisman Trophy (Lamar Jackson is currently 1/50, meaning a bet of $50 returns just $51), but it’s possible he could get invited to the ceremony.

The Doak Walker Award, given to the nation’s top back, is certainly in play, as are All-America honors.
