Dalvin Cook is quickly approaching school history.
The Florida State running back could reasonably take the program’s career rushing record as soon as this weekend against North Carolina State and is seven touchdowns away from matching the school’s career rushing touchdown mark. After talking to him, he is incredibly aware of the Seminole he is on the verge of overtaking.
“It’s always a blessing to be mentioned with Warrick Dunn and some of the stuff he did,” Cook said.
Cook’s productive season has also started to earn him Heisman consideration, at least in the form of a possible invite to the ceremony in New York City. For Cook, though, that doesn’t change his mindset.
“Like I said last year, everybody’s going to have their own opinion on who should win what award,” Cook said. “I just go to work. Just keep working hard every day and control what I can control. The hard work is going to be noticed. It can’t go unnoticed so I’m going to keep going out there and working on my craft, building a good relationship with my teammates, just keep working on little stuff like that.”
