Update 7:37pm: Florida State is ranked No.12 in the latest CFP rankings; just ahead of Louisville at No. 13. With one ranking left this puts them in position for an Orange Bowl bid.
#FSU moves up to No. 12 in the newest CFP rankings. Louisville at No. 13. Florida remains at No. 15.— Andrew Miller (@Andrew_Miller36) November 30, 2016
Before its defeat over the No. 15 Florida Gators, the Seminoles of Florida State were ranked No. 14 in the CFP rankings. When the newest College Football Playoff rankings are released at 7 PM EST on Tuesday, the ‘Noles should see a rise in its ranking.
In front of the No. 14 ‘Noles, No. 3 Michigan, No. 11 Louisville and No. 13 Auburn all fell. FSU should jump Louisville and Auburn due to the high rank of the Florida win and vault into the top-12.
The Louisville loss makes things interesting for Florida State as far as its bowl is concerned. Since Clemson is the top ACC team, and is heading toward the College Football Playoff, it means the ACC spot in the Orange Bowl is open to UL or FSU. At the end of the day, if FSU is ranked ahead of Louisville, it should mark good odds that the ‘Noles will be bowling in Miami as the Cards or Seminoles do not have another regular season game remaining.
