Wilson Bell will start at right guard for Florida State when the team faces off against NC State on Saturday night. . Freshman OL Landon Dickerson, who had been starting at the role, suffered a season-ending ACL injury on Tuesday during the team’s practice.
Bell, a redshirt junior, started every game in 2015 as well as the opener against Ole Miss before Dickerson took over. Following the announcement of the injury to Dickerson, head coach Jimbo Fisher was not clear on who would be the definitive starter, saying Bell and redshirt sophomore Derrick Kelly were options to fill in the void.
The FSU offensive line has not lived up to expectations through eight games this season, giving up an average of 3.38 sacks per game, worst of any Power-Five team and 123rd (out of 128) in the nation. The team has also allowed an average of seven tackles for loss per game, 108th in the nation.
