FSU basketball’s NCAA Tourney projections continue to ascend

After building its current winning streak to six straight games with a win over the Florida Gators, the Seminoles reclaimed a national ranking as conference play draws closer. Beating UF never gets old for the ‘Nole faithful, but one thing that is a bit of a novelty are the Seminoles’ NCAA Tournament chances, which continue to rise.

ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi still has FSU as a 7-seed, this time facing off against 10-seed Providence in the East Region’s Indianapolis venue. However, TeamRankings.com has given Florida State a considerable bump, per its simulations. Last week, TR gave the ‘Noles a 63% shot of making the Big Dance-- that figure is now 81.6%. A week ago, the Seminoles’ most likely spot was an 8-seed, and now it’s a 5-seed. Also, FSU’s Final Four chances have gone from 2.4% to 4.6%, and its shot at a national title has doubled from .3% to .6%.
