Yesterday, our Bud Elliott outlined some of the reasons that Florida State running back Dalvin Cook may not have garnered the sufficient votes to earn a trip to New York City for the 2016 Heisman Trophy presentation. The explanations span a variety of hard and soft factors and, evidently, are by no means shared by just those who cover the ‘Noles.
Many across the country deem Cook the NCAA’s top RB, but, apparently, not enough of those with Heisman votes concur. Seminole fans have called it a joke, a travesty, a mockery, and a shame, via social media. And they may not be wrong in doing so.
In fact, Cook’s exclusion from consideration for the country’s top individual award has been lamented by numerous media members who cover the national stage. I’ve included a few of them below, because after your family’s Thanksgiving visit, you’re probably already angry enough and could handle seeing that not everyone else thinks you’re crazy:
I made the case for Dalvin Cook last week. Guess it didn’t convince many voters… https://t.co/sf3t6ireR0

I know from watching almost every CFB game this year that @dalvindjc deserves a trip to NY for the Heisman. Special player!
