Another week, another rise in a prominent bracketology projection. That would once again sum up the progress made by the Florida State men’s basketball team in Joe Lunardi’s predicted field for the Big Dance.
The ESPN analyst reseeds the entire field every week, and the ‘Noles have improved their seed by at least one line since they began as a 12-seed in his opening projection. Lunardi now has the ‘Noles up to a 7-seed in the East Region, opening play against 10-seed Maryland in Indianapolis.
TeamRankings.com is also higher on the Seminoles than it was a week ago, via its simulations that play out the rest of the season. Last Thursday, they gave FSU a 43% shot at the tourney, and in just the last week, that has risen to 63%. Florida State’s most likely seed also improved from a 9 to an 8, its Final Four chances more than doubled from 1% to 2.4%, and its shot at a national title? Up to .3% from .1%.
