The ACC officially released the future conference match-ups for the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 basketball seasons, including those of the Florida State Seminoles. The Noles will face the following teams in each season.
2016/2017 Season | |
---|---|
Opponent | Game Type |
Miami | Home/Road |
Clemson | Home/Road |
Duke | Home/Road |
Notre Dame | Home/Road |
Wake Forest | Home |
NC State | Home |
Virginia Tech | Home |
Louisville | Home |
Boston College | Home |
Georgia Tech | Road |
North Carolina | Road |
Virginia | Road |
Pitt | Road |
Syracuse | Road |
Notes: The immediate observation is that drawing both Duke and Notre Dame for a home and home is tough. Duke may be struggling (by their standards) this season, but the Blue Devils are hardly ever down for two seasons in a row. The Irish, who currently sit fifth in the ACC, will be tough, as well. The fun doesn't end there, though, as the Seminoles will also get to travel to face the Tar Heels and the Cavaliers.
2017/2018 Season | |
---|---|
Opponent | Game Type |
Miami | Home/Road |
Clemson | Home/Road |
Louisville | Home/Road |
Boston College | Home/Road |
Georgia Tech | Home |
North Carolina | Home |
Virginia | Home |
Pitt | Home |
Syracuse | Home |
Duke | Road |
Wake Forest | Road |
NC State | Road |
Virginia Tech | Road |
Notre Dame | Road |
Notes: The Seminoles will see a decidedly lighter home and home schedule for the 2017/2018 season. Though Louisville will be once again playing for a playoff berth, barring more future self-imposed postseason bans, getting the chance to play Boston College twice is a nice reward for the 2016/2017 home and home set-up. Another tough road schedule awaits, with trips to South Bend and Durham on tap, though overall, it's still a softer away schedule than 2016/2017 (as things look right now).
