The 'Noles got a commitment from a four-star defensive tackle out of Newberry (FL) High School today. If that sounds familiar, it's for good reason. Florida State now has a pair of stud DT teammates committed to its 2017 class, as Cory Durden joins fellow Newberry star Ja'len Parks as a future Seminole.
Durden (6' 4, 283) camped at FSU last summer and earned an offer from the 'Noles in the process. He returned to Tallahassee for an unofficial visit when the Seminoles topped the Miami Hurricanes last year. Durden is presently ranked as the No. 19 defensive tackle in the country and has offers from Florida, Miami, Oklahoma, Georgia, Louisville, NC State, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Duke. His primary recruiter is Odell Haggins.
Durden said that he has been silently committed to the 'Noles for a while, but he now plans on doing some serious recruiting for FSU.
Check back soon, as we'll have video of Durden speaking with the media momentarily.
