Can the 'Noles pull another one from cajun country?

On February 11, Florida State offered Louisiana receiver Devonta Smith. Just nine days later, the 'Noles had him on campus-- not a bad turn around. And for the four-star Smith, it all comes back to tradition. He reference the Seminoles' tradition a couple of times in describing why his FSU offer "is one of the offers I was looking forward to getting." Of course, getting kids out of Louisiana can be a real challenge, but the 'Noles have someone on the inside regarding their recruitment of Smith, of Amite High School: recent Florida State commit Kyle Meyers, who hails from the same state. Smith says he's close with Meyers.

Smith is ranked the No. 12 WR in the class of 2017, and, in addition to Florida State, he also holds offers from Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Baylor, and Ole Miss. On Saturday, he says he measured 6', 155 pounds, and returned to FSU because he wanted "to get more familiar" with the program.
