This spring, the Seminoles executed a minor coup in pulling linebacker Dontavious Jackson out of Houston, Texas in a head-to-head battle with the Longhorns. They could find themselves in another such battle in 2017-- this time for the No. 1 defensive tackle, Marvin Wilson, of Bellaire (TX) Episcopal High School.
Wilson, who said he measured in at 6'4-3/4 and 325 pounds, is a five-star prospect who holds offers, in addition to Florida State, from Alabama, LSU, USC, Texas, Michigan, Miami, Florida, UCLA, and Georgia, along with plenty of others.
Wilson was noticeably impressed with Florida State's coaches, beginning with Tim Brewster, who has headed up his recruitment. "You call him at four o'clock in the morning, he'll probably pick up," he said of how well Brewster avails himself to recruits. He also mentioned how much he liked Odell Haggins' desire to mold him into a man, and when asked what impressed him most, he led with the FSU coaches.
Florida State is going to get one of Wilson's official visits, he revealed; no other school has secured that commitment as of yet.
