SF Mfiondu Kabengele has committed to Florida State basketball, per Evan Daniels of Scout.

Kabengele visited FSU in January, and chose Florida State over Boston College and others. The Seminoles were the first high major team to offer Kabengele, and were followed by BC, Georgia, Georgetown, Kansas State, and Wisconsin.
Kabengele is originally from Burlington, Ontario (that's in Canada, kids), but is utilizing a post-grad year at Don Bosco Prep (IN). He has an interesting skill set. At 6-8, with 7-1 wingspan he obviously has the length that Coach Hamilton is looking for, and he seemingly has a good frame. He also has a good handle, and is an excellent passer. And he has range to the 3-pt line, even if it isn't yet consistent.
From what I've heard his primary weakness is that he's not really a face-up perimeter player, nor is he a back to the basket forward. He can drift at times, unsure of how best to use his skills. Coaches also need to figure out which positions he can defend.
He is a 3* prospect according to the 247 Composite rankings. He is the nephew of former Georgetown great Dikembe Mutombo.
He joins 5* Jon Isaac, and 4*s Trent Forrest and CJ Walker.
