Following their first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday, the 'Noles were back at in on Monday under sunny skies that finally chased a rain-soaked Tallahassee weekend. Cornerback target Stanford Samuels III was once again present, as was signee Keith Gavin and former players Lamarcus Brutus, Javien Elliott, Roberto Aguayo, and Cason Beatty.
In addition to those already listed as being out for the spring, linebacker Jacob Pugh remains out with an ankle sprain and cornerback Marquez White, who broke a bone in his hand, was in a cast and will miss a few days. Receivers Pigg Harrison and George Campbell are still sidelined and Nyqwan Murray was not present. Johnathan Vickers spent time on the bike, and Mario Pender wasn't around. Also absent: Lorenzo Featherston.
As they did prior to Saturday's scrimmage, the QB reps once again went to Deondre Francois, followed by J.J. Cosentino and Malik Henry. Dalvin Cook led the RBs and was backed up by Jacques Patrick, who grabbed reps ahead of Ryan Green this time. The offensive line saw an interesting shakeup. It was, left to right: Rod Johnson, Kareem Are, Alec Eberle, Rick Leonard, and Brock Ruble. The twos: Ethan Frith, David Robbins, Corey Martinez, Cole Minshew, and Wilson Bell.
Bobo Wilson was back for the first time this spring with the receivers, and Mavin Saunders continues to cross train, working with the tight ends today after also spending time with the receivers.
Linebacker depth was bolstered today, as Sh'Mar Kilby-Lane was back. Also, Tyrell Lyons loosened up with the team instead of individually, a step in the right direction.
Ricky Aguayo drilled a field goal from 50 yards out that landed in the IPF. Punt return reps went to Kermit Whitfield, Travis Rudolph, Wilson, and Ermon Lane.
FSU coaches and players will not meet with the media today, but we'll have another practice report for you on Wednesday.
