Due to the weather in Tallahassee this weekend, the 'Noles (18-5, 6-1) were only able to get one game off against NC State. They swept the two game midweek series against UCF. In the end, Florida State finished the week winning all three games they played and moved up in each of the nationally acclaimed rankings.
In the D1 baseball poll, FSU moved up to No. 9, previously holding the No. 11 position. Their opponent on Tuesday, Florida, fell from the No. 1 spot into No. 2 following their series loss last weekend.
In the USA Today Coaches Poll, the 'Noles fared a little better, moving into the No. 8 spot from No. 11 last week. There is a pair of Florida teams holding the No. 2 and No. 3 spots in Miami and Florida respectively.
Florida State saw their largest jump in the National Collegiate Baseball Newspaper rankings, moving up six spots from No. 14 to No. 8. The Florida Gators remain at No. 1 in that poll, which would be another nice boost for FSU with a win.
Their highest ranking was given by the NCBWA who ranked the 'Noles No. 7 up from No. 10.
Baseball America gave FSU the lowest rankings of any poll, landing the Seminoles at No. 12, the same ranking they were at last week.
This week, Florida State will face off against a consensus top-3 team in Florida (23-3, 4-2) as they play in Jacksonville before heading to Massachusetts to take on the Boston College Eagles (13-8, 3-6) for a three game weekend series.
