Saturday is Senior Day at the Tuck. Seniors Montay Brandon, Devon Bookert, Boris Bojanovsky, and Michael Saxton will play their final regular season game for Florida State. Michael Ojo will also be honored, though he is expected back next year.
Following the ceremonies, the Noles will get a rematch with the Syracuse Orange (19-11, 9-8).
Syracuse is squarely on the NCAA tournament bubble, and in danger of missing their 2nd straight dance. So they should have plenty to play for.
When these two met less than a month ago, we previewed their high variance offense, and sure enough, they went out and knocked down 47% of their 3s. The Orange led by as much as 14 in the first half, and then blew the game open by scoring on their first eight possessions of the second half.
The 3s were a problem in the first game, but the real issue was FSU giving up 70% shooting on 2s. To change the outcome of this game, the defense is going to have to tighten up. It's not easy to win shootouts against teams that feature an entire roster of former top 100 recruits.
The FSU defense was able to dominate Notre Dame last weekend, but this team has been inconsistent and no result tomorrow will be really surprising.
The game tips Saturday at 2 PM and will be broadcast on ESPN2. FSU is favored by 3 points.
